Important Messages
Enjoy a summer of reading whatever you like and sharing your reviews and favorite frugal tips. Share three titles you have just read and at the same time share a Thrifty Tip. We will display the Titles and Tips and enter you into a weekly and Grand Prize Drawing.
Register at the Information Desk or online. Once registered, begin reading. For each title you read complete a drawing slip or log your title online, include the title and author of your book, your review, and rating. For an extra entry into the drawing, include a frugal tip.
Tips can come from the following categories: Energy Savings, Cooking/Gardening, Shopping, Another Use For..., Cleaning, Miscellaneous.
Entries for the weekly drawing must be in by Sundays 6:00 pm with the exception of the July 4th holiday where entries will need to be in by Friday, July 2, 6:00 pm. Drawings will be held Monday mornings beginning June 21.
All entries must be in by Sunday, August 1, 6:00 pm to be eligible for the Grand Prize Drawing.
ReviewsTitle: Lighting Their Fires Author: Rath Esquith Reviews: It's a book on raising exceptional children. The author is a LA, CA teacher in a low income district. He has done amazing things with kids and provides a good parenting book based on a baseball game theme.
Tip: Adding vinegar to your colored cold wash helps cloths keep their color. Title: The Bradshaw Variations Author: Rachel Cusk Reviews: A timely & absorbing tale with issues of the harmony & discord of the Bradshaw's family life in London, England - we "meet" the husband, wife, 8 year old daughter, their parents, brothers & sisters! A worthwhile read!
